Service Opportunities

Care Ministries
     Godspeed Express - Organizer recruits and calls list of volunteers for each month; one hour/month.  Volunteers provide transportation
     and fellowship for WPC members who can no longer drive to Sunday worship; 30 minutes one Sunday every other month.
     Health Ministry Committee - Provide health information and education through various programs to address the congregations needs 
    
and community outreach; one hour every month
     Homebound Ministry - In conjunction with church-wide celebrations, treats and meals are delivered to homebound members.  Our
    
Footsteps Ministers stay connected with our homebound members through regular calls, and visits.  Copies of Sunday worship services are
    
also made available to our homebound friends.
     Operation Prayer & Care - Provide prayer support and monthly care packages to soldiers with a Westminster connection who are
     serving in combat zones.
     Sanctuary Flowers- Deliver Sunday flower arrangements to rest homes or other community facilities.
     Stephen Ministry - Trained, supervised, lay (non-ordained) caregivers provide Christian support during difficult times.
     Support Our Students - Letters of encouragement and care packages are mailed four times during the academic year to show love and
     concern to our college students.

Worship
   Hospitality - We have weekly opportunites to help welcome people to our church fellowship.  Greeters and ushers serve Sunday
     mornings before the Sunday school and worship hours.  We also have greeters to welcome people during our Wednesday evening
     program.
     Seasonal Decoration - At Christmas, Easter, and additional seasons, we have teams that prepare, set-up and remove seasonal and
     liturgical decorations that enhance our congregation's worship, study, and fellowship.
     Bivins Worship Outreach - The first Sunday of each month we have teams that are put together to lead worship at Bivins Memorial 
     Nursing Home.

Children's Christian Education
*All Volunteers are required to complete a background check and complete our Child Protection Traning Program.
   Wednesday Evenings - Assistance with our classes and choirs for ages K-5th is always welcome, 6:10-7:30 p.m.
     Vacation Bible School - One week in June volunteers work with children as teachers, guides and helpers.
     Sunday Mornings - Teachers for our rotation model commit to 4-weeks in an area; Shepherds guide a specific age group for the
     semester.
     Rediscover Christmas - December 4 & 5, 2009, readers, guides, hosts and more help present the story of Christ's birth through
     historically based vignettes throughout Austin Park.
     Easter Celebration - Saturday before Easter volunteers help with games and activities and our annual egg hunt.

Adult Christian Education & Group Ministries
     Envisioning Task Force - Discerning and overseeing the direction and content of adult spiritual formation; two-hours monthly on average.
     Teaching - One hour classes on Sunday morning, Wednesday night, specialty small groups...variety of durations.
     Mentoring - Time commitment varies; typically mentoring younger age groups.
     Organizers - Needed for retreats, guest lectures and special events; time commitment depends on role and timing of event.

Youth Group (The Way)
*All Volunteers are required to complete a background check and complete our Child Protection Traning Program.

     Sunday School Team - We offer six-week rotation for our middle and high school students; volunteers will be provided with 
     training and curriculum.
     Wednesday Night Leaders - Help with games, clean up, and small groups.  Choose middle school or high school students;
     we also offer fun events throughout the year.
     Mission Team - These volunteers are passionate about local and international missions; members help put together trips,
     fundraisers, and opportunities for service for our students.

Young Adults (Renovatus)

Evangelism
   
Envisioning - Task force two hour/month commitment; connect with new members; equipping people with innovative ways to reach out
     and minister to others; assist with events designed to draw new people to Westminster.

Music Ministry
     We have a wide range of styles and people involved in our music ministry.  Sharing vocal and intrumental gifts with our congregation is
     strongly celebrated.  Rehearsal Schedule.

Feeding His Flock
   
Wednesday Night Kitchen Crew - Develop menu and prepare meal for Wednesday night family meal; time commitment varies each
     week, but volunteers are always welcome!
     Comfort Food - Prepare simple meals for WPC families during stressful or difficult times; volunteers are utilized on a rotation basis.
     Bereavement Meals & Receptions - Prepare meal or reception for bereaved families; volunteers are utilized on a  rotation basis.
