New Sermon Series
Jesus and Money
Believe it or not, Jesus said as much about money as He did about any subject He discussed and taught. In this selection from the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus lays out for His followers in both the 1st and 21st centuries the way of grace when it comes to Christian living and our money.

The Heart of Christianity
Protestant Christianity finds its roots in four distinctly Biblical slogans most often quoted in Latin: Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura, and Solus Christus. In English, they are “Grace Alone,” “Faith Alone,” “Scripture Alone,” and “Christ Alone.” In these four slogans, and the Scriptural truth they proclaim, we find the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Oct 27 - "The Sola Gratia (Grace Alone)"
Nov 3 - "Sola Fide (Faith Alone)"
Nov 10 - "Sola Scriptura ( Scripture Alone)"
2 Timothy 3:15-17
Nov 17 - "Sola Christus ( Christ Alone)"
A Christ-centered community, hearing the Good News of the Scriptures, responding in faith to be the person and work of Christ, learning the Christian faith, caring for one another, and growing in commitment and personal spirituality, so that we may go into the world to live as Christ’s servants proclaiming Christ’s message.

Our intergenerational Wednesday night program gears up this Wednesday, August 28, with our kickoff gathering and continues through Wednesday, December 11 (with exceptions for October 30 and November 27) for 13 times together as a church family. The serving line for a marvelous meal opens at 5:30 (donations accepted). Middle school and senior high youth will meet from 6:15-7:45 in the Thomas House. Children’s programs and adult courses run from 6:30-7:30. This fall, our adult courses are:
· September 4—December 11 (13 sessions): “Revelation: Discipleship on the Edge.” Taught by the Rev. Chad Erb. Ever wanted to unpack a little of the last (and often quite challenging) book in the New Testament? Here’s your chance. Based in part on the book Discipleship on the Edge by Darrell W. Johnson.
· September 4—December 11 (13 sessions): “GriefShare.” A grief support and education group facilitated by Carol Braudt and Cathy Brown. A nationally recognized ministry for those dealing with the death of a loved one. Workbooks are $15 and can be picked up at the first meeting. An always “open” group—start any Wednesday.
· September 4—October 2 and December 4 & 11 (7 sessions): “Prayer:” Taught by Dick Brooks, one of WPC’s best teachers and prayer warriors and the former commissioned ruling elder pastor for First Presbyterian, Dalhart.
· October 9—November 20 (6 sessions): “The Differences between Presbyterians and. . .” Taught by the Rev. Dr. Clay Brown. How do Presbyterians compare with Methodists, Baptists, independent evangelicals, Mormons, Catholics, and even other Presbyterians? One comparison per session.
